Ready, Set, Go

I am working in the "ready," stage right now, propagation beds in full swing, hundreds of seedlings are up and growing.  I have been busy, busy, my husband finished the drip system in the greenhouse after I re-arranged everything and so he had to re-do his work from last year.  More seeds have been ordered and I think that will be my last order of the season unless I get crazy again.

This years craze for me:

 celosia 'Bombay' Series 

This celosia is out of this world.  Totally new to me but I think now that I have my "Super Greenhouse," I can grow it.

 'Olive' my new sweet pea   'Nimbus' oh, the beautiful bouquets I can make with these beauties

 'Limelight' these seeds I sent for from Owls Acre Sweet Peas in England.  The English are great at sweet pea cultivation and I read good things about this company.

And.... succulents I have collected so many in the last month they are now coming out my ears.

I have also been working on my new website.  If anyone has ever use Word Press to create their website you may have a good experience or you watch a lot of You Tube videos on how to do a gallery.  You can view it at www.erikasfreshflowers.com, keep in mind I have more tweaks to do to it.

Everything is Just Popping Out

Everything has just been popping out of the ground.  I love adding beautiful hostas to bouquets.

What a week, it's finally warm.  I have enjoyed being outside so much, not having to dodge wind and rain.  What more could I ask for?  The new greenhouse is filling up.

I was so happy to get these lilies organized.

I have a local furniture store save me their cardboard.  My dad gave me tons of saw dust so I have been tearing out old flower beds, roto-tilling and adding the cardboard with sawdust for new pathways.

Flower Farmer's Tan Weather

Wow!  Who would of thought Easter would be 65 degrees?  It was 82 deg. in the greenhouse today.  We will be getting that fan soon, those box fans can't keep up.

My brother and his family were visiting this last week from Idaho and we stayed pretty busy.  We climbed the Astor Column, walked the trail at Fort Clatsop.  We made a trip over the hill to Washington Square so my brother could go the the Duck's store, he really enjoyed that not much U of O stuff in Idaho.

My neice is a kick in the pants and has the flower pick'n bug like me.  On our walk at Ft. Clastops she picked this lovely bouquet of wild flowers.  She knew exactly how she wanted the bouquet to look and said it need something green and picked just the right grass to add height.

This weekend's progress on the greenhouse.  All the lilies have been planted!

Another weekend goes by, greenhouse not finished

Another weekend has gone by and it's not finished.  My husband is a perfectionist and builds things well.  Unfortunately, it takes a while and the weather needs to cooperate.

Tulips, Daffodils, Seedlings, Greenhouses

First handful of the season

Daff's for the Bakery tomorrow and I'll put in those beautiful Tulips.  I love those milk glasses vases.

Trying to grow plants this time of year by fluorescent lighting, heat optional.  Once the plants came up they needed to go off the heating bed to make room for more trays of seeds.  So my husband insulated a shelf in the shop with lights to keep them growing until the SEE BELOW, yes the greenhouse is done.

All four corners or cemented in!  Despite the threat of snow, it was actually a nice day.  With no wind it was a nice 41 degrees between rain showers.
